We recently got back from a romantic escape trip, and our hotel experience was great. The rooms were spacious and well furnished, with plenty of storage space. The breakfast was delicious with a good range of cold and hot food, which we enjoyed during our stay. the location of the hotel was amazing; it was on the banks of a river giving us lovely and picturesque views of the town and was close to a famous bridge and towers that we visited. The pool and sauna were a great added touch, and we had a lovely time at the hotel.
The shower was poor, and the heat in the room was a bit too much, and it gave us a hard time when we were inside our room. there isn't any free parking, and the only option of parking is on weekends, which was a downside during our stay.

Have used this Hotel several times on my trips to Europe and have always found it excellent value for money and with a professional and pleasant staff
Did not appreciate the lounge/bar which is still smoking. It is amazing how you get used to a no smoking enviroment

Checkin went smoothly, we were directed to the nearby free parking. We had Lovely room,a junior suite. The hotel location is by the river bridge and is a pleasant walk to the town centre.
On our first night we wanted a drink but the Castel bar was way too smoky, then we were curtly turned away from a table in the bistro as they would only accept diners.

The hotel is perfectly situated next to the famous Broel bridge with the Medieval twin towers, offering a picturesque view of the historic city towers and bridge. It's just a short walk to the main square and the newly opened shopping mall in Kortrijk, making it incredibly convenient. the rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with flat TV and mini bars. the staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. the breakfast offers a wide variety of options, including bread, fruit, juice, and yogurt. free internet access is provided.
The dinner in the hotel's restaurant was quite expensive for the quality, not offering good value for money.

Great location next to historic buildings and city center, friendly staff, wonderful breakfast selection with fresh pastries and fruits.
Rooms are a bit dated and in need of renovation, air conditioning was not effective making the room too warm, lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.

The hotel staff were very friendly and swimming pool & Sauna was free and also great times, had both to our own over the 2 days we were there. Ther breakfast had a good variety of both hot & cold options but if you did not get this in with the room price was a little expensive, I think it was 18 Euros. I would stay at this hotel again when in the area.
On our arrival we did have a lot of noise from above room as they were completing some building work and had to go out a walk until it had finished. Also there was quite a smell of I think bleach coming from the Kitchen which went through to the reception area and was quite a strong smell.

The hotel was designed in natural stone and all the fixtures and fitting matched in..... the bar drink were also not so expensive. The food at the hotel was first class
At the time we were at the hotel there was alot of road works and other routes being sorted, which made life a little difficult when using the Sat Nav

The bar was pleseant.
Hotel Broel is starting to look aged and "turned up at the edges". My bed appeared very old and I seem to have picked up some bug bites. Very unpleseant indeed. The gym was useless and I could not even connect the treadmill to the power. I will not return as there are much better hotels in the area.

familiarity, location
rooms are becoming more spartan - lack of toiletries in room, nothing in minibar, rugs have gone and only bare floors remain, TV reception and choice really poor, WiFi patchy and poor even if it is free. The hotel is living on past glory and reputation, unfortunately. I have stayed here variously for abotu 15 years, but now it is second choice in town for me.
